Motocross Strategic Committee FIM, Youthstream and MSMA meet in Mies

A meeting between the Motorcycle Sport Manufacturers’ Association (MSMA) - its representatives of the Japanese and European motorcycle industry Messrs Romano Albesiano and Ampelio Macchi (Aprilia), Roger Harvey (Honda), Martino Bianchi (Husqvarna), Steve Guttridge (Kawasaki), Winfried Kerschhaggl (KTM), Thomas Hannecke and Sylvain Geboers (Suzuki), Laurens Klein-Koerkamp (Yamaha) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA Secretary General) , the FIM Motocross World Championships Promoter Youthstream - Mr Giuseppe Luongo and the FIM

President Mr Vito Ippolito and other FIM officials Messrs Wolfgang Srb, President of the CMS commission, Guy Maitre, Ignacio Verneda and Dirk De Neve - was held yesterday at the FIM Headquarters in Mies (Switzerland).
Mr Ippolito made a statement on the present economical crisis which was also affecting motorcycle sports. In a very positive atmosphere, all parties discussed the impact of the world economy on the FIM Motocross and SuperMoto World Championships and short and long term scenarios to safeguard the sport. All partners confirmed their involvement in the 2009 Championships. Moreover, all were in favour of maintaining a permanent dialogue during the season.

The next meeting of the Motocross Strategic Committee will be held in Mies on 20 October 2009.
